Family and friends of Nick Imudia have been left reeling shock as the police in Lagos try to unravel what made the former Konga CEO to take his own life.
Mr. Imudia, 45, jumped from the balcony of his high rise apartment in Lekki area of Lagos and plunged to his death on June 25, 2024.
Before taking his own life, he made contact with his brother to dictate his will to him, he also called his daughter assuring her she would well taken care if he dies.
“Yes, it is true. He committed the act on June 25,” Lagos State Police spokesperson, Benjamin Hundeyin confirmed Thursday adding that the motive for him taking his own is being investigated.
No one in Mr. Imudi’s circle have a clue on why he jumped to his death. He was into his second marriage, after he got divorce from his first wife with whom he had his young daughter.
Imudia who hails from Ika in Delta State, is well read and well travelled, he had a masters degree in engineering in oil and gas and also another masters degree in business administration majoring in international business. He worked with Nokia, Alcatel as regional director. He joined Konga online retail as CEO, he left in 2022 to become group CEO of D.lights a renewable energy firm.
“His manner of death is quite baffling,’ said an associate of the late CEO.
“Here is a man who has it all, everything seems to be going well, it is shocking to us all.”
