After making a two hour drive from Lile where the basketball events will hold, the Nigerian women team was prevented from taking the boat ride with rest of the delegation during the opening ceremony Friday.
D’Tigres who will be playing their opening game Monday against Australia were told by a Nigerian official, they couldn’t board the boat because it was already full with too many people. Nigeria shared the boat with Niger Republic and Norway.
Feeling disappointed the players and coaches made their way back to Games village while the opening ceremony lasted.
At the end of ceremony the team was not at the pick up point for the buses going back to Lille and it was unclear if other arrangements was made for the team to return to Lile. With agency reports
