Chelsea and Napoli are nearing conclusion on a swap deal that will see Victor Osimhen and Romelu Lukaku move opposite directions.
Transfer expert Gianluca Di Marzio revealed Tuesday evening that Chelsea, desperate to sign a top striker, are now prepared to have Osimhen in London.
The Super Eagles striker himself has given conditions to join Chelsea. He will not accept a pay cut to his €10 million yearly wages and would not accept a loan deal.
The sticking point in negotiations remains Osimhen’s release clause of €130 million, which Chelsea are not willing to pay. But the club is ready to deal Lukaku plus cash.
Osimhen and Napoli have agreed that he moves on this summer. Chelsea are also ready to let Lukaku go. The Belgian striker has made it clear he wants to join Antonio Conte at the Diego Maradona Stadium.
Meanwhile Chelsea coach Enzo Maresca has told the club to get Osimhen as he is now faced with the option of having just Nicholas Jackson as the only top 9 available. This was after his attempt to land Samu Omorodion collapsed.
Chelsea will open their Premier League 2025 season with a game against Manchester City on Sunday.
