Joshua Zirkzee said he is delighted scoring in his debut for Manchester United during Friday’s Premier League clash with Fulham at Old Trafford.
Zirkzee came off the bench to tap in from a cross by fellow substitute Alejandro Garnacho in the 87th minutes. That was all United needed to collect their first three points of the season.
Zirkzee who joined United from Bologna this summer became the 15th Dutch player to score on his Premier League debut, and the fourth to do so while at United after Ruud van Nistelrooy, Alexander Büttner and Donny van de Beek.
“To win here in my first home game and grab a goal, it couldn’t have been better,” Zirkzee told Sky Sports.
” I have been told that it is one of the best feelings here at Man United (scoring at the Stretford End) and I am just very thankful and blessed that I could experience it in my first game. It was an amazing feeling.”
Zirkzee born to a Dutch father by a Nigerian mother noted that coach Ten Hag fired him as made his entry into the game.
“He asked me to bring energy and help the team as much as possible. Just that!”
