Nigeria Football Federation said there is no truth in reports that it has reached an agreement with Swedish coach Janne Andersson to take up the Super Eagles job.
There has been reports in various Nigeria media about Andersson taking the reins of the team still without a coach after Finidi George left the post in the wake of Nigeria’s poor showing in the 2026 World Cup qualifying matches against South Africa’s Bafana Bafana and Benin’s Cheetahs.
NFF spokesperson Ademola Olajire said Tuesday there was no contract offer to the Swedish coach.
“The Federation will announce the Head Coach for Super Eagles when it’s ready. Nobody has been appointed yet,” Olajire said.
