Kylian Mbappe is facing a three-week injury lay off after suffering a thigh injury in Real Madrid’s 3-2 win over Deportivo Alaves on Tuesday.
Mbappe has had a good run of for after joining the European Champions in the summer, scoring six goals. He was on the score sheet before being substituted after 80 minutes.
“Following the tests carried out today on our player Kylian Mbappé by the Real Madrid Medical Services, he has been diagnosed with an injury to the femoral biceps of his left leg,” said Real Madrid in a statement Wednesday.
Real Madrid are away in a league match at Atletico Madrid on Sunday and then play Lille in the Champions League and Villarreal in the Spanish topflight prior to the October international break.
