Economic and Financial Crimes Commission said it is investigating claims by Martins Vincent Otse a.k.a Very Dark Man that cross-dresser Idris Okuneye a.k.a Bobrisky, did not stay in Kirikiri prison to serve his six months sentence for abuse of the naira.
Very Dark Man shared an audio allegedly made by Bobrisky saying that he Bobrisky bribed EFCC and Nigeria Correctional Service officials with N15m, so that he could spend his time in a luxury apartment near Kirikiri, rather that stay in the confines of the prison.
EFCC spokesperson Dele Oyewale said in a Statement Wednesday that the Commission’s Chairman, Ola Olukoyede, had constituted a team of investigators to critically investigate the matter.
“To this end, the commission hereby invites both Okuneye and Otse to make themselves available at its Lagos Directorate to assist investigators unearth the alleged bribery.
“The EFCC wishes to assure the public that the allegations would be thoroughly investigated, and the result of the findings made public accordingly,” said the statement.
Reacting to the allegations Bobrisky put out a rebuttal on Wednesday.
“My attention has been drawn to a fake voice recording circulating on the internet that I paid EFCC 15 million naira and that I was never in prison.
“I didn’t pay any EFCC money; it is a very big lie. I served my term in full, and I came out. Discard any false information.”
