Five worshipers have died and others treated in hospital after they consumed a meal during a feast in their church in Ibadan, Oyo State last week.
Daily Post reports that about 55 persons ate from the food, which was prepared by members for the feast, five lost their lives, while the surviving church members received medical intervention at the Infectious Disease Centre in the Olodo area of Ibadan.
Oyo State ministry of health said Sunday that investigations are on to determine the cause of death and illness of the church members.
Oyo State Police spokesperson, Adewale Osifeso confirmed the incident.
“Investigation is ongoing. Updates would be provided accordingly, please.”
