Former Rivers State governor and former Minister of Transportation Rotimi Chibuike Amaechi said he is angered by Nigerian youths’ passivity to the social and economic problems facing the country.
Speaking during an interview with Igbere TV, Amaechi deplored the passive reaction of the public, suggesting that Nigerians should be more outraged at the current situation.
“People should be angry because you cannot see a group of people stealing your money without doing anything. I am really angry with the citizens because they are not doing anything,” Ameachi stated.
“I expected youths to storm different streets and protest against the high cost of living, but I have not seen anything that shows that they are serious.”
Reflecting on the worsening economic conditions, including skyrocketing prices of essential commodities and energy, Amaechi pointed out the high cost of diesel as one of the severe impacts of inflation.
