A woman in Delta State Eunice Asulie has been accused of pimping her own daughter identified as Emmanuella Monday a 15-year-old secondary school girl.
According to reports by The Punch Mrs. Asulie took her daughter to a hotel where she met a man who had paid her mom money. Unable to bear the reoccurring sexual abuses Emmanuella reported to her school headmaster at Triumphant School, Effurun, in Uvwie Local Government Area of Delta State.
Emmanuella whose mom and dad are estranged narrated her ordeal: “My mother has been taking me to men. And last Sunday, after church, she took me to meet a man in a hotel. She left and said that she was coming back. She did not come back till the evening and left me there.
“I managed to escape from the hotel room, when the Aboki man went to have a bath.
“I managed to find my way to a friend’s house and stayed with that family overnight. On Monday morning, I went to school and reported the matter to my teacher. And my teacher said she was going to do something about the matter.”
However, her mother said Emmanuella has been missing from home: “My daughter, Emmanuella, has been missing for days and I have been searching for her everywhere and could not find her. I don’t know her whereabouts. I am looking for her.”
It was gathered that the proprietress of Triumphant Schools, Mrs Magareth Oghuvwu, is now sheltering Emmanuella to save her from further abuse.
“On Monday morning, we didn’t see her in school. After some time, we saw her sneaking into school with tears in her eyes. We asked her what happened, and she said that on Sunday, her mother took her to Beeland Hotel and handed her over to an Aboki man, with all her clothes like a sort of a marriage.
“She played along and waited for the Aboki man to go take his bath and come out. While the man was bathing, she ran out and she had to spend the night in her friend’s mother’s house.
“As we speak, I am scared. I don’t know if I should release the child to her mother or go to the police. I had to go to the human rights groups and involve them.
“The girl is even scared. Up till now, she cannot even come out because she is scared of her father and mother looking for her.”
Meanwhile the police have taken Emmanuella into police protection custody pending the outcome of investigation to unravel the circumstances of the case.
