Bukayo Saka made a surprised start for Arsenal in their 2-2 draw against Liverpool on Sunday and he put his name in the score sheet to become the youngest player to score 50 goals in the Premier League.
Gunner’s legend Thiery Henry held the record at 24 years old during his time with the North London team. Saka, 23, now holds the honour after opened scoring for Arsenal. He had missed the Gunners Premier League game they lost to Bournemouth 2-0, the Champions League tie they won 1-0 against Shakhtar Donetsk.
Mikel Merino put Arsenal ahead after Virgil van Dijk levelled up for Liverpool, but just when the Gunners thought they wrapped things up, Mohammed Salah scored to deny Saka and Arsenal the three points they needed badly.
However, in stoppage-time, Gabriel Jesus put the ball in the back of the net for the Gunners but referee Anthony Taylor disallowed it for a foul committed by Kai Havertz. Arteta was asked about the incident at his post-match press conference but was tight-lipped. He replied: “I prefer not to comment.”
Then when asked if he will look for answers on why the decision was not given, Arteta said: “I’m sure I will have the clarity or a letter. I don’t know.”
