A student of the University of Jos, Plateau State, Keziah Kyanchat Nuhu has been arrested by the Nigeria Police for allegedly stealing the sum of $500 (about N830,000) from her boyfriend (name withheld), who is a participant in one of the courses at the Nigeria Institute of Policy and Strategic Studies, (NIPSS), Kuru near Jos.
Keziah Kyanchat Nuhu, a student of the Department of History and International Studies, Faculty of Education in the University, allegedly entered her boyfriend’s bedroom with a duplicate key and commited the theft. She had stayed with her boyfriend between July and October 2024
After the theft Keziah Kyanchat Nuhu suddenly developed cold feet towards the relationship in early October, leading to a sudden return of the house key to the boyfriend.
It was after the submission of the bedroom key that the boyfriend discovered that $500 was missing from where he had kept his money and raised alarm.
The matter was reported to the NIPSS police post and subsequently handed over to the Ke-Vom Police Station in Plateau State.
Efforts to contact the DPO in charge of Ke-Vom police station, Mr Abul Emmanuel, were not successful, but a source at the station told this medium that investigations were still ongoing, and the result would be made known soon.
When contacted, the accused, Keziah Kyanchat Nuhu, who admitted her staying with the boyfriend in NIPSS within the said period, denied the allegation, insisting that she was innocent.
