Citizens of Equatorial Guinea are still reeling from the shocking sextapes of Baltasar Ebang Engonga who has now been sacked from his government position as Director General of the National Financial Investigation Agency.
President Teodoro Obiang Nguema Mbasogo dismissed Engonga saying his conduct was a breach of trust by a public office holder.
Investigating agents who had stormed the office of the disgrace Engonga for a different assignment stumbled into 400 different sextapes showing him having sex with wives of top government officials, politicians and his own cousin.
The outrage continue to spread in the country as one of the women in the sextape took her own, while others are dealing with the shame and in danger of losing their marriages. Engonga’s wife was reported to have collapsed at the shocking revelation and she is still under medical observation.
Equatorial Guinea First Lady Constancia Mangue Obiang was angered by the show of shame.
In a statement posted on Facebook, the First Lady’s Press Office stressed that while the government has advanced gender equality, proactive measures are essential—not only to respond to incidents like these but also to prevent them—to ensure a safe and respectful environment for all women.
