Rwanda’s Amavubi arrived Uyo, Akwa Ibom for their last group D game of the African Cup of Nations, with the hope to win and book their place in the Morocco 2025 tournament.
The Super Eagles who laboured to a draw against Benin Republic in Abidjan Thursday have already qualified for the AFCON and it remains to be seen if they would take their foot off the pedal and allow the desperate Amavubis to get the result they want.
A win for them and a loss for Benin Republic in Benghazi will send them to Morocco. They missed the opportunity to enhance their chances after losing 1-0 at home to Libya’s Mediterranean Knights on Thursday.
The Rwanda’s delegation flew from Kigali to Lagos aboard a regular Rwandair flight, before boarding an Ibom Air flight to Uyo. They landed in Uyo just before 5pm.
Meanwhile the Super Eagles have also arrived Uyo they flew straight from Abidjan and were booked into their hotel rooms at about 4.30pm Friday.
In September Nigeria and Rwanda failed to find the net in Kigali.
