German Bundesliga side Bayer Leverkusen are prepared to offer striker Victor Boniface a new contract to beat off bids from clubs like Manchester United who are eyeing the player.
Boniface’s present contract ends in the summer of 2028, meaning he has close to four years left on his deal but Bayer Leverkusen are ready to extend it by a year to tie him down at the club.
Manchester United have been credited with an interest in the Nigeria international as they seek to end their goal-scoring woes in the January transfer window.
However, a deal for the 23-year-old is more likely to happen in the summer, but his acquisition would not come cheap, and Bayer Leverkusen’s latest intention to extend his contract shows their desire to keep him.
