Taraba State governor Agbu Kefas has tragically lost his sister Atsi Kefas, who was hit by a bullet fired by a police escort.
According to reports the incident happened last weekend along the Kente Road in Wukari Local government where Atsi Kefas, their mother Jumai Kefas were ambushed by gunmen and in the ensuing shootout, the police escort accidentally shot Atsi Kefas.
She was rushed to a hospital in Abuja for treatment but ultimately succumbed to her injuries.
A source close to the family confirmed her death, stating, “She passed away last night after battling her injuries. The governor and his family have yet to issue a formal statement, but our thoughts are with them during this incredibly difficult time.”
Another source confirming the death said, “Yes, the governor’s younger sister, who was shot during the bandit attack while traveling to Abuja, has sadly passed away.”
