Recent outburst by Niger Republic head of junta Brigadier General Abdourahamane Tchiani alleging that Nigeria was colluding with France to destabilise his country have been described as mere propaganda aim at turning northern Nigerians against President Tinubu.
Special adviser to the Nigerian President on policy communication, Daniel Bwala, made the claim adding that the Niger Republic junta was running out of luck and thus decided to vent its frustration on President Tinubu.
General Tchiani during an interview on Christmas day alleged that Nigeria and France were working together to undermine his government. Speaking in Hausa language during the interview, he added that France President Emmanuel Macron had given Tinubu large sums of money to allow France station its troops in Nigeria.
“Yesterday I came across a video, a despicable propaganda piece by the military head of state of the Niger Republic against the president of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, and this is what you often see with military interregnum,” Bwalya posted on his X social media page
“The honeymoon is over; he has not been able to address economic situations in his country; everything is turning against him, and in the desperate gasp for breath, he decided to resort to cheap false lies and propaganda against Nigeria.
“The choice of words used by the military leader is quite insulting for what his intentions are; probably in cohort with politicians in Nigerians; you never know.
“But the whole idea is to create chaos and bad blood in Northern Nigeria against the President,” he added.
