The Police in Anambra State have arrested a man who allegedly set his wife on fire after accusing her of cheating on him.
A video circulation online showed the woman identified as Mrs. Chioma Nwanna, a mother of six children, cursing her husband as she was covered with burns and groaning, after she was doused with petrol and set a light by her husband. She later died from her injuries at the hospital.
According to the Anambra Police spokesperson SP Tochukwu Ikenga the incident, which happened Tuesday at Abagana, Njikoka local government area of Anambra State is under investigation
“We are aware of the matter, but it is sad to announce to you that the woman just died this morning while receiving medical attention.
“Her husband has also been arrested, and investigation has commenced,” the PPRO said.
