Gospel singer Mercy Chinwo has alleged that her ex-manager Ezekiel Onyedikachukwu a.k.a Eezee Tee is making threatening remarks and bullying her in their dispute over royalties.
Both parties are in court following allegations by Mercy Chinwo that Mr. Eezee Tee failed to pay her royalty up to the tune of $264,000. The case came up for hearing last Friday and the matter has been adjoined till February 14, 2025.
Posting on her Instagram account Tuesday, Mercy Chinwo said she had to move from Lagos to Port Harcourt for her own safety following threats to her life. She also accused her ex-manager of fabricating stories in the media to tarnish her image.
She said, “A man claimed I sued him, came online and made videos to tarnish my image. He looked at me and said, ‘I made you who you are and I will destroy you.’ I became scared of my life, and it got to a point where I had to move from Lagos to Port Harcourt because this man made the environment toxic for me.
“I’ve endured bully. I’ve endured threats. Whatever he is doing on social media now is nothing compared to what I went through.
“One of my major crimes was when I did a song with pastor Nathaniel Bassey. Because this man hates pastor Nathaniel Bassey you went as far as sponsoring fake news about an innocent child, my son. And you said my son was not my son.
“And you paid bloggers because you hate pastor Jerry Eze. You won’t want me to go to his event. The people you fight I must fight them with you? And when I ask why you don’t like them, you’ll start harassing me.
“What did I do? What have I done to you? I served you as a father I was once your backup singer. I served you diligently. We signed a backup contract in 2017. As we progressed, he tried to convince me to sign a 12-year contract, which I said no to. Since then, you started acting funny, always toxic because I didn’t extend the contract.
“Immediately after my contract, I discovered you forged a new contract. Please tell the world what happened to the 2017 and the 2019 contracts. You seized my royalties for two years. You are a bully; You’re an oppressor.”
Mercy Chinwo claimed that it was Eezee Tee who dragged her to court over the matter, contrary to the believe she took him to court.
“He took me to court and came online to make public that I took him to court. Here are the documents, you took me and minister JudiKay to court and you’re here playing the victim game.
“You have money. You are not God and you cannot destroy me. You have bloggers, I have God. The worst you can do is what you are doing. And I know that God will not let your plan come to pass.”
In his response, Eezee Tee said “For years, you’ve received both quarterly royalties and immediate remittances from the 50/50 agreement, but this greed and betrayal that persists are beyond comprehension.”
