Former Nigerian Senate president Bukola Saraki has sent warm wishes to his music executive son Seni who won the ‘Best Reggae Album’ at the 67th Academy Grammy Awards.
Seni was part of a team that created the ‘Bob Marley: One Love’ music inspired film depicting the life of Bob Marley. It also featured some of the iconic songs of the late Reggae legend.
“Congratulations, Seni, on winning your first Grammy last night for your work on the ‘Bob Marley: One Love’ soundtrack, which took home the award for Best Reggae Album!” Saraki who was also former governor of Kwara State wrote.
“Seeing you pour your heart into your passion and having it recognized on the global stage is an indescribable joy. Well done! We are super proud of you!”
Seni said he was grateful to the team including Nigerian artists like Wizkid and Bloody Civilian who contributed to the success of the project.
“I appreciate all the amazing artistes, producers and engineers who were brave enough to take on this project because it is about Bob Marley’s legacy,” he said.
“I appreciate them for taking on the songs, reinterpretation them, and doing it their own way. Artists like Bloody Civilian, WizKid, Daniel Caesar, and Jessie Reyez.”
In 2023, Seni’s collaborative project ‘Black Panther: Wakanda Forever’ soundtrack also had four nominations. He was the music consultant for the project.
Seni, a graduate of the London School of Economics and Political Science, is the chief executive officer of The Native.
