A Nigerian man identified as Adiyako Masaliyo has been beaten to death Bellahalli, India after being wrongly suspected of dealing in drugs.
Mr. Masaliyo, 40, had gone into a local chicken shop when Yasin Khan the owner and others attacked him for acting suspiciously, the resultant arguement later degenerated to a fight and in the process Khan allegedly hit Masaliyo on the head with a plank.
The police investigated the incident and found that Masaliyo had no connection with drugs nor had any criminal record. Khan has been arrested and could be facing murder charges.
“We have registered a case of murder and arrested the accused,” a senior officer said.
