Paris Saint-Germain coach Luis Enrique said their Champions League semi-final opponents Arsenal have evolved to become one of the best teams in Europe and the Gunners would a handful when they meet again on April 29.
During the group stages Arsenal beat PSG 2-0, but the French side picked up the pieces after their struggles, eliminating Liverpool who topped the qualifiers table in the round of 16 and then beating Aston Villa 5-4 aggregate score in the quarterfinal.
Arsenal on the hand have been dominant beating PSV on aggregate score of 9-3 in the round of 16 before dispatching cup holders Real Madrid over two legs with a 5-1 aggregate win.
“We know who was eliminated by Arsenal, we are in the last four, so it’s against one of the best teams in Europe,” Enrique said Friday
‘It’s a team that has had a very good evolution with Mikel Arteta over the last few seasons and they’re performing very, very well.’
Asked on Friday if PSG have an advantage by playing another Premier League side in Arsenal, Luis Enrique replied: ‘No, well, it is neither an advantage nor a disadvantage.
‘It is obvious that there is a pattern that can be common among English teams.
‘But in this case, we have faced Liverpool and Arsenal already, it has been seven or eight months, also Aston Villa, and now it is Arsenal once again.”
