Ahead of Tuesday first leg semi-final clash between Arsenal and Paris St Germain at the Emirates Stadium the French side has complained to UEFA about the Gunners’ plan to reduce their fans by 500.
Going by the rules of the European soccer governing body, home teams are to provide 3000 seats for the away fans, but according to reports by French sports daily L’Equipe, Arsenal want to limit the number of PSG fans to 2500, unlike in October 2024 when they provided 3000 seats during their group game, which Arsenal won 2-0.
The report claims that the Gunners have informed PSG that they will only be giving 2500 tickets to the away fans, citing security concerns coupled with the fact the London Marathon would be held on Sunday.
But PSG are not buying into it. They want all 3000 seats made available to their fans and they have filed a complaint against Arsenal with the hope that UEFA will intervene.
Arsenal are hoping to have more of their fans in the Emirates Stadium to cheer them to victory like they did against Real Madrid in the quarter final.
“The message is that they have to play every ball with us,” said Mikel Arteta Arsenal manager.
“So, I would say bring your boots, your shin pads, your shorts, your T-shirts! And let’s play on Tuesday night all together here to have one of the most amazing nights at the Emirates.”
