A young mother has been arrested by the Delta State police for allegedly flogging her one-year-old baby to death with a cane.
The incident occurred in Kokori community in Ethiope-East Local Government Area of Delta State. According to witnesses the young woman mercilessly beat the toddler, till he became unresponsive.
It was gathered that the woman was impregnated by a “Yahoo Boy” who later abandoned her and the little boy to fend for themselves. Neihbours said frustrated by her ordeal, the young lady transferred her aggression to kid and was easily irritated each time the boy cried for a need.
On the fateful day, it was gathered that the woman for no reason started beating the child who eventually became unresponsive after many screams.
Neighbours tried to rescue the child, but it was too late as he died before they rushed him to the hospital.
