Manchester United and agents of Victor Osimhen are reported to have held talks with a view of landing the top striker at Old Trafford in the summer window.
According to French football journalist Santi Aouna, the first meeting was held Monday. But though United are keen to sign Osimhen and pay Napoli €75m, Osimhen’s demand for €12m a year deal is not sitting well with the English Premier League side who are badly in need of strikers who can deliver the goals.
Osimhen who has scored 33 goals from 37 games at Galatasaray where he is on loan has express his desire to join the Premier League in the summer, but he is not willing to take a pay cut from what he is getting currently at Napoli. This has scared away clubs like Chelsea and Arsenal who are also keen to have him in their fold.
It was also gathered that United are also looking at signing Sporting Lisborn’s striker Viktor Gyokeres, who played under United manager Ruben Amorim while at Sporting. Amorim is more favourably disposed to have the Swede born striker whom he has worked with.
But United’s need for a top finisher continues to drag them towards Osimhen.
