The police in Ondo State have arrest a man Odunayo Olomolatan who allegedly hacked his father’s tenant to death during a dispute.
According to the police the incident happened Monday in Ode-Irele, Irele Local Government Area of Ondo State. The lady 22-year-old Joy Tale met her untimely death following an argument, she had with the Olomolatan, who was said to have been aggrieved by the dispute to the point of using a machete to attack the lady.
Ondo State police spokesman, DSP Olayinka Ayanlade, confirmed the incident, saying the suspect was in custody at the Divisional Police Headquarters, Ode-Irele.
“Yes, I can confirm to you that the lady was allegedly hacked to death during an argument between her and her landlord’s son.
“The suspect has been arrested, and investigation is ongoing to unravel the circumstances surrounding the lady’s death,” Ayanlade said.
Meanwhile, the Chairman of the local government, Olajide Akinfe, has called for calm over the incident, urging residents not to take the law into their own hands.
Akinfe, who claimed to have visited the Divisional Police Headquarters, said that measures have been put in place to ensure that the suspect does not escape justice.
