Paralympian Hannah Babalola had one aim coming to the National Sports Festival and that was to win a hat-trick of gold medals.
But at the Gateway Games representing Delta State, Babalola had her name to two gold medals in the T54 1500m and T54 400m.
Speaking Monday at the MKO Abiola Stadium after achieving her double, said she was not happy falling short of her target in the T54 100m where she bagged the silver.
“I’m not happy settling for silver in the 100m, I came to Ogun with aim to win three gold medals,” said Babalola who represented Nigeria in the 2024 Paris Paralympic Games.
The US based athlete explained that her first three days in Abeokuta was challenging as she came down with a running stomach.
“I wasn’t feeling fine at all and I went to compete in that condition, I was trying to hold back poo and at same time competing.
“That was why I couldn’t win the 100m gold and it is quite regrettable.”
