Anambra State governor, Prof Chukwuma Soludo has refuted claims that he consulted a witch doctor to boost his chance of reelection.
The Anambra governorship election is billed for November 8 and candidates including Prof. Soludo are pulling all the stops to gain electoral victory, and one of the contestants had accused Prof. Soludo of going diabolical. A video clip being circulated online, claimed the Governor visited witch doctor.
But speaking a statement Wedneday press secretary to Prof. Soludo, Christian Aburime, dismmsed the claim saying it was “totally false” and “maliciously fabricated.”
“During the session, one of the content creators performed a skit, a common comic genre in Nigerian entertainment, to showcase their creative abilities,” Aburime stated
“The government expresses disappointment that critics and political opponents would deliberately misrepresent the video to spread misinformation.
“Governor Soludo’s commitment to developing Anambra’s creative economy is evident in projects like the recently commissioned Solution Fun City. We urge the public to disregard the misinformation and verify information before sharing or amplifying content.
“Governor Soludo’s commitment to the development of Anambra State and his focus on delivering the Solution Agenda is top priority now,” the press release stated.
Meanwhile the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Wednesday published final list of 16 candidates for the election. The commission stated that electioneering campaigns would begin on June 11. Some of the candidates according to the publication include Charles Soludo of APGA, Eze Nwafo Jude of PDP, Nwosu John of ADC, Ukachukwu Nicholas of APC and George Mogbalu of LP.
