Former Super Eagles captain Ahmed Musa said his major focus as general manager of Kano Pillars was to moulding them to become one of Africa’s top football clubs.
Musa played for Kano Pillars in his formative years and returned there after his long stay in Europe and Asia for his professional career. He took over as general manager of the Kano Pillar franchise Monday.
“Kano Pillars is our club and one of the most successful in Nigeria, but in recent years, the story has changed,” Musa said.
“I want to assure everyone here that, with your support and the backing of the Board members, I will do everything possible to reposition the club and make it one of the finest not only in Africa but globally.”
Musa highlighted that his extensive experience in European football, combined with his understanding of the domestic league, would serve as powerful tools in achieving this vision. He further stressed the need for unity, strategic planning, and dedication from management, players, supporters, and partners to drive the club forward.
The appointment of Musa as General Manager by the Kano State Government under Governor Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf is part of the deliberate efforts to reposition Kano Pillars in line with global best practices.
With Musa at the helm, the club is looking forward to a new era of professionalism, renewed ambition, and excellence, aiming to inspire fans across Kano, Nigeria, and beyond.
