Chelsea attacking midfield Moises Caicedo said he is looking forward to meeting former teammate Thiago Silva when they clash in tonight’s FIFA Club World Cup semi-final at the Metlife Stadium in East Rutherford New Jersey USA.
Thiago Silva a strong member of Chelsea left in 2024 to join boyhood club Fluminense . According to him play against Chelsea is a mix bag of feelings as his family is stll in London. However, Caicedo it is a game that must be played and won.
‘We are looking forward to this game and we have prepared well, trained well,’ said Caicedo.
‘It’s so important for us. Brazilian teams have shown in the tournament how good they are and it’s going to be a great battle.
‘I am looking forward to the game. It will be a tough game and I can’t wait to play and show why we are still here [in this tournament].’
He said meeting the 40-year Thiago Silva meant Chelsea must raise their game. “He is a legend as you know. He will, for sure, have a great game and we are happy to face him. But we are going to show our level also.’
