Burna Boy and Davido...friends once

11-7-2025

Music fans are wondering if Afrobeats super star Damini Ogulu a.k.a Burna Boy was dissing fellow musician David Adeleke a.k.a Davido in his latest album “No Sign of Weakness.”
Burna Boy released the album Friday ahead of his outing alongside Drake at the 2025 Wireless Festival in the UK.
‘No Sign of Weakness’ according to Burna Boy is a depiction of his struggles, but fans are suggesting that he is taking a dig at his biggest rival in the Afrobeats genre Davido, because he mentioned “frog” a word fellow Afrobeats star Ayodele Balogun a.k.a Wizkid had used to described Davido’s singing.
In verse three of track ‘No Sign of Weakness’, he says:
“Hothead can’t get cold feet
So my advice is that it’s just best you don’t speak
The likkle frog better not jump up and leap
The .44 gon’ make am slumber and sleep
See, the perimeter to the governor them reach”
Burna Boy and Davido’s beef stretches back to 2019; It reached another level this year when Burna Boy urged Davido to stop claiming what he is not. Davido’s pal Cubana Chief Priest escalated the feud by jumping into the fray dragging Burna Boy, who responded in equal measure.
