President Bola Tinubu Friday in Abuja hosted the 1999 Nigerian governors at the State House.
Prominent among the group are former Delta State Governor James Ibori who led the group.
Others include Lucky Igbinedion (Edo), Adamu Aliero (Kebbi), Joshua Dariye (Plateau), Saminu Turaki (Jigawa), Boni Haruna (Adamawa), Donald Duke (Cross River), and Sam Egwu (Ebonyi).
Jolly Nyame (Taraba), Victor Attah (Akwa Ibom), Niyi Adebayo (Ekiti), and Adamu Mu’azu (Bauchi).
George Akume, secretary to the government of the federation (SGF), who served as governor of Benue state from 1999 to 2007, introduced his former colleagues at the start of the meeting.

Other governors of that era who where not in Abuja include Bisi Akande (Osun), Olusegun Osoba (Ogun), Achike Udenwa (Imo), Abdullahi Adamu (Nasarawa), Ahmed Makarfi (Kaduna), Attahiru Bafarawa (Sokoto), Sani Yerima (Zamfara), Rabiu Kwankwaso (Kano), Chimaroke Nnamani (Enugu), and Orji Kalu (Abia).
