Nigerian rapper Prince Daniel Obioma a.k.a 3GAR will face prosecution for reckless driving after he crashed his McClaren turbo charge car at Sea Point, Cape Town, South Africa.
3GAR was lucky to be alive when he came out unscathed in the crash which occurred on March 1, 2025. He was reported to be blasting the supercar at over 200km per hour; he lost control and crash into a pavement and a wall. The car was a write off.
Videos showcasing the savage wreckage of the vehicle garnered millions of views online, as shocked onlookers witnessed the aftermath of what many described as a reckless display of speed and disregard for safety.
Reports in South Africa said the National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) has revealed that after months of waiting and calls for action from local officials, the 29-year-old driver will face charges of reckless or negligent driving.
According to Nicholas Gostell, a DA member of the National Council of Provinces focusing on Security and Justice, the Sea Point Police have confirmed that they are investigating the incident. However, he noted with concern that weeks after the crash, no charges had been filed against the driver.
‘Whilst security companies have released video footage of the accident, clearly showing that the vehicle moved at excessive speed through a suburban area before losing control, crashing into a kerb, and colliding with a boundary wall, the driver now alleges on social media that he swerved to avoid a homeless person and that the videos were edited,’ Gostell stated.
