Atalanta coach Ivan Juric may welcome back Ademola Lookman to the club if his transfer request fails to sail through.
Speaking on the feud between Lookman and the club, Juric said everything was going on well with him and the player, before he abandoned training after Atalanta rejected Inter Milan’s €45m including add-ons bid for Lookman.
Lookman left the club for Portugal for holiday, before going to London to wait for Inter to return with a bigger bid.
“Ademola was very fair with me, he explained his thoughts,” Juric told L’Eco di Bergamo newspaper.
“We just have to accept the situation. It’s sad that it got to this point. I trained the team when he already had a calf injury, then this happened, so I never really got to work with him. At least it meant that it didn’t influence the squad.”
Meanwhile time is running out for Lookman. Inter even as they are willing to make a new offer close to Atalanta’s €50m asking price, they are also looking for alternatives.
According to Buchi Laba who wrote on X: “100% Confirmed: Inter Milan will make another Offer for Ademola Lookman.
“This 3rd offer will be close to what Atalanta wants.
“Lookman has made it very clear to Atalanta he won’t play for the club anymore. He wants Inter but Atalanta wants to sell him to clubs outside Italy.”
