Manchester City fans have urged the club to quickly wrapped up the deal for Italian goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma after goalkeeping errors by James Trafford cost them dearly at the Etihad Stadium.
City fell 2-0 to Tottenham Hotspur at the Etihad Stadium. Goals from Brennan Johnson and Joao Palhinha Tottentham sealed the victory earned in an otherwise cagey game. Trafford should’ve been sent off for a foul and handball outside of the box in the first half before a poor pass from the young goalkeeper allowed Spurs to score their second.
First choice goalkeeper Ederson was sidelined by injury. It was reported that City are waiting to offload him so that that they can bring in Donnarumma.
One user on X wrote “Donnarumma here we go at Monday 7am sharpish” whilst another City fan noted “Donnarumma has more international trophies than Trafford has international caps.”
Social media was flooded with City fans eager to see Donnarumma join the Premier League giants, whilst last night, transfer expert Fabrizio Romano posted on X to confirm that Guardiola’s side are working on a deal for the Italian.
