Chelsea have cancelled an agreement with Bayern Munich for the transfer of Nicolas Jackson, after Liam Delap picked up a hamstring injury in their 2-0 win over Fulham on Saturday.
Delap will be out for up to eight weeks and according to Chelsea coach Enzo Maresca, the team will surely be needing a striker.
Jackson had already arrived in Munich when he received a call that he is wanted back, but according to his agent the plane cannot turn back to London. Jackson is currently in Munich to complete his medical and possible loan deal with an option to buy.
Jackson’s agent Diomansy Kamara reposted a story saying: ‘We’re not going back’
And added: The plane doesn’t go backwards. Munich ♥️
It remains to be seen how Chelsea and Jackson will manage the situation.
Speaking to TV post-match, Maresca said: “Liam Delap is expected to be out for six to eight weeks because of this type of injury.”
“Liam’s injury doesn’t look good in terms of, he was full speed, hamstring, so that required, like always, weeks.
“And then in terms of another striker, to be honest, we’re going to sit and we’ll see if we take any decision. That’s all.
“When you have two strikers, it’s enough. When one of them is injured for different weeks, probably it’s not enough,”
