A 60-year-old Lagos man identified as Ajayi Femi who allegedly drugged and raped a 24-year-old lady has been made reflecting on his action in the police cell.
The Police arrested the man after the victim’s sister had reported the matter on August 27.
Lagos State police spokesperson CSP who confirmed the incident said: “Investigation, including medical tests by the Gender Unit, revealed that on the same day, the suspect spiked the survivor’s drink, rendering her unconscious before having unlawful sexual intercourse with her without her consent.
“The suspect also made a confessional statement to that effect. He has since been charged in court and remanded in prison custody pending the next adjourned date given by the court,” the statement read.
Hundeyin said Lagos State Police Commissioner CP Olohundare Jimoh reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to ensuring justice for survivors of sexual offences.
The CP encouraged members of the public to report all cases of sexual offences at the Family Support Units across divisions and area commands for prompt action and justice
