Barcelona FC manager, Hansi Flick has revealed his frustration at top striker Lamine Yamal returning from international duty with a pain in his pubic area.
Yamal is not in the squad to face Valencia on Sunday evening. He might also miss their Champions League tie against Newcastle next week.
“Lamine Yamal is experiencing discomfort in the pubic area and is currently unable to train or play. His return to training will depend on how his condition evolves,” Barca confirmed on their X social media page.
Speaking ahead of the clash, Hansi Flick said: “Lamine will not be available [against Valencia] – it’s a pity. He played with the national team despite pain.
“He had problems, played 79 and 73 minutes, and didn’t even train between matches because of this pain. That is not really taking care of the players, is it? It is not.
“Spain have the best team in the world. The best players in every position, unbelievably good. Maybe when we talk about taking care of young players, it’s things like that. I’m really sad about this situation.”
