President Bola Tinubu will return early from his ‘working vacation’ to Europe on Tuesday after only a week of stay.
His adviser on information and strategy, Bayo Onanugu said Monday, the President will return early from his vacation, and he give no reason to the quick return back to Abuja. Tinubu was scheduled to spend his vacation in the UK and France.
“President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has concluded his work vacation ahead of schedule and will return to Abuja on Tuesday, September 16, 2025, to resume official duties,” Onanuga said in a statement.
“The President departed for France on September 4, 2025, to spend part of his annual holiday and was initially scheduled to divide the period between France and the United Kingdom.”
Meanwhile former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has turned up the volume of his criticism of Tinubu’s handle of the nation’s economy.
“Whatever reform the Tinubu government might claim to be undertaking, the point remains that food insecurity is a daily occurrence nationwide.
“There is no government worth its salt that does not place priority on the welfare and security of the people.
“Back home here in Nigeria, it may not be out of place to argue that even the “ENDSARS” protest was fueled by the traumatising frustration of hunger and insensitivity on the part of the government.
“Whether the present powers accept it or not, the reality of our existence is that the poor are increasingly dying of hunger while the majority of the living poor exists at the mercy of the ill-advised policies of this government.”
Mr. Onanuga said in a response that Atiku who is aspiring to contest the 2027 elections, was out of touch as President Tinubu’s economic reforms are beginning to yield fruits. He said inflation is on a downward trend and prices are coming down.
