Belgium and Napoli star striker Romelu Lukaku woke up Monday morning to the news of his father’s death the day after his club lost 2-1 to AC Milan in a highly charged Serie A tie.
Roger Menama Lukaku himself a former striker who played for clubs like KV Mechelen and Oostende in Belgium and also played for Congo DR died at 58 and according to Lukaku; ‘Life will never be the same’.
“Thank you for teaching me everything I know. I’m forever grateful and appreciate you. Life will never be the same,” the Belgian wrote on an Instagram post on Monday morning.
“Protecting and guiding me like no else could, I won’t be the same. The pain and tears are flowing big time. But God will give me the strength to get myself back together. Merci pour tout,” posted Lukaku on his Instagram.
He is currently out of action for Napoli due to long time injury that will keep him till December.
