Air Ibom was involved in another passenger misdemeanor Wednesday during a flight from Uyo to Abuja.
According to reports by Vanguard, the passenger stole N290,000 from a foreign traveler’s bag kept in the overhead luggage compartment shortly after boarding. The foreigner raised an alarm when he discovered that his money had gone missing.
Other passengers who sighted the suspect in the area pointed fingers at him and the cabin crew had to search him. The money was later discovered hidden in his socks and underneath his seat.
The suspect was later escorted out of the plane by airport security, while the flight which suffered some delay resumed.
In August there was drama midflight when a passenger Comfort Emmanson refused to switch off her phone, she was later seen in a video pummeling one of the air hostesses. She was later remanded in prison but released afterwards following intervention by the Minister of Aviation.
