Sprinters Tima Godbless and Praise Ofoku will aim to turn the fortunes of Nigeria around at the World Athletics junior championships in Cali, Colombia when they run the women 100m heats this evening.
Yesterday, the men failed to advance beyond the heats. Oghenovo Mabilo finished 10.54secs to finish 4th in the third heat, while Adelaku Fakorode did not start. The Nigeria mixed relay team also did not start.
Reports from Colombia stated that the athletes due to their late arrival for the event where unable to get into best conditions to compete. This is couple with the fact they some of them do not even have running equipment.
