Travel influencer Fernanda who was ganged raped by seven men in India, said she has put behind the ordeal and travelled on to Afghanistan where the ruling Taliban do not have regards for women’s rights.
Fernanda,28, and her husband Vicente, 63, were brutally attacked while resting with their motorcycles in the Dumka district of Jharkhand India. The couple from Spain have been travelling around the world in their motorbikes. They have over 300,000 Instagram followers.
Despite the horrific ordeal, the pair carried on embarking on their travels around the world. From Spain to Colombia, the couple spoke out to insist that India is “a great country and worth visiting” and they wanted to continue embracing their one true love – travel.
Fernanda said: “Life itself is a gift, I know it’s something we take for granted but when situations happen where you barely see the next day is when you stop to reflect.
“We’ve had a second chance, we’re still alive, it was hard yes but we’re still breathing. We’ll go on the journey, we’ll go on with our lives, not to do it is to let evil win, and we won’t – we’re not quitters.
“We continue our journey with more excitement than ever”.
In their recent video from Afghanistan, the couple could be seen at a Taliban checkpoint. The pair were slightly separated and stopped before they were forced to show their passports and visas.
In the video, they visited military barracks and checkpoints, with Fernanda breaking down in tears at the sheer mental battle and also coming down with an illness while driving.
