Afrobeats singer, David Adeleke, a.k.a Davido, has met with French President, Emmanuel Macron in Paris to share common views about global affairs.
Davido posted photos from the meeting on his X social media page Thursday sparking excitement from his fans.
“It was an honour meeting #EmmanuelMacron and sharing our visions for a better world,” Davido captioned the photos.
Macron has consistently shown interest in Africa’s creative and entertainment industries.
Back in 2018, the French leader paid a historic visit to the Afrika Shrine, home of the late Afrobeat legend Fela Anikulapo Kuti, which he described as “an iconic centre for the propagation of African culture, strength and music.”
The latest meeting with Davido appears to reinforce Macron’s cultural outreach agenda, particularly with Nigeria’s booming Afrobeats scene gaining global attention.
