Samuel Ojeogwu a.k.a Sammy West a brother to Regina Daniels who was picked up by the police and hurriedly railroad into prison has been granted bail.
The Dutse Magistrate Court had reminded Sammy in Keffi, before being transferred to Suleja Prison. The bail, set at N5 million, was approved on Monday, November 10, 2025, following several days in detention.
He was arrested in Lagos by police allegedly mobilised from Abuja by Regina Daniels estranged husband Ned Nwoko. His detention had drawn widespread attention on social media, with many fans of the actress calling for his release.
“Sammy, you are a great man. Bail has been granted! Nigerians, thank you.” The post quickly went viral, drawing messages of relief and support from friends and followers,” Regina Daniels other brother Sweezzy1, shared on Instagram.
It was gathered concerned by the manner Sammy West was clamped in detention, human rights activist Omoyele Sowore had waded into the matter, and he worked with others to get Sammy West freed.
Omoleye urged the police to question Senator Ned Nwoko for taking advantage of a minor when he married Regina Daniels at 17.
“APC Senator, Prince Ned Nwoko should be held accountable for crimes against minor and abuse of power,” Sowore said.
