Music producer and Mavin Records executive Michael Collins Ajereh a.k.a Don Jazzy has rated Wande Ojosipe a.k.a Wande Coal as the best vocalist amongst all the male artists he ever heard sing in Nigeria in recent times.
Don Jazzy in a question-and-answer session with fans on X social media platform picked Wande Coal ahead of even himself saying the former Mavin Records signee remains his best.
“Most unique I agree, best na Wande [Coal],” Don Jazzy responded to a fan’s inquiry.
Wande Coal and Don Jazzy parted ways in November 2013, and since then he has been in the shadows of Afrobeats acts like Burna Boy, WizKid, Davido and Fireboy DML, some of the guys, Wande Coal inspired. Wande Coal has long been credited with shaping the sound of modern Afrobeats.
A week ago, Wande Coal gave a snippet of his latest single, “Dem Go Pay”.
He released his “Legend or No Legend” album in 2023 and followed up with a single in 2025 “Go Easy.”
