Actors Guild of Nigeria president Emeka Rollas has dragged Regina Daniels mother for aspiring to be president of the body when she needed to be home taking of her daughter badly in need of rehab.
In a lengthy statement addressed to his colleagues as they prepared for the AGN elections in December, Rollas said he was speaking out to clear allegations, misconceptions, and unnecessary accusations” that have been tarnishing his reputation.
Mr. Rollas also chided Senator Ned Nwoko for bringing his family dispute to social media rather than keep his private matter out of the public space. This is coming at the heels of the back and forth on social media between Ned Nwoko and his estranged wife Regina Daniels.
The AGM president affirmed Senator Ned Nwoko’s allegations that Regina Daniels was hooked on drugs and alcohol, and he called out his other colleagues for not speaking up. He mentioned actors Okey Bakassi, Charles Inojie, Chinyere Wilfred, Jide Kosoko, and Sanni Danji, who were present on a recent film set with Regina.
“You saw things firsthand, especially regarding Regina and we all know she needs help,” Rollas stated. “Your silence is unfair, and it leaves me exposed to attacks for matters I did not create.”
He lashed out at Regina Daniels’s mom Rita Daniels, who is contesting for the AGN presidency: “I say this respectfully, if your daughter’s home and health is in distress, AGN elections should not be your priority.
“Our Guild must be a safe place, and when people in leadership positions openly justify harmful habits as “a celebrity lifestyle,” it puts our younger members at risk.”
He had this to say about Ned Nwoko: “It is not good for a man of your status to go on social media and publicly call out your wife in something I still believe can be handled internally.”
