Bandits have threatened to unleash more attacks on Nigerians as a follow up to the kidnap of students from Kebbi and Niger States.
The terror gang in a video posted on social media Monday threatened that their next targets will be the military and political office holders. A man was seen in the video boasting that they will continue to attack and government cannot stop them.
Last week in Niger State armed gunmen stormed the St Mary’s Catholic School in Papiri and Niger State carting away 315 students and teachers. About 50 students however, escaped. This attack was coming a few days after 25 girls were taken away from the Government Girls Secondary School, Maga, in Kebbi State.
Meanwhile Kebbi State governor Nasir Idris has called on President Bola Tinubu to review the country’s security architecture.
He explained that with recent security developments, there were enemies attempting to scuttle the democracy the nation currently enjoys.
“As a responsive government, when we received intelligence on a possible attack, we summoned a security meeting.
“The security agencies assured us that all was well and that personnel would be mobilised to the school.
“The military was deployed, but they later withdrew by 3 a.m., and by 3:45 a.m., then the incident happened.
“Who authorised the military to withdraw? How did security personnel pull out at such a critical time?”
