Afrobeats singer Ayra Starr is the star attraction in the Grammy Museum December special edition in New York City, USA.
The event tagged “A New York Evening with Ayra Starr” will see the young artists give an in-dept conversation about her music, creative journey, and rapid rise in the industry. The discussion will be followed by an intimate live performance. The evening will be moderated by music journalist J’na Jefferson.
The event is billed for Tuesday, December 16, 2025, at National Sawdust in Brooklyn.
Ayra Starr is a two-time Grammy nominee, known for global hits such as Rush and Sability. Her participation is part of the Grammy Museum ongoing effort to expand its public programming in New York. As one of the leading voices of Afrobeats and a trailblazer for African female artists, her presence shows the genre’s increasing global influence.
The event will also spotlight her 2026 Grammy nomination for Best African Music Performance with her song Gimme Dat. Ayra Starr previously made history as the first and youngest Nigerian female artist to earn a nomination in that category with her breakout hit Rush.
