Top Nigerian artist and music legend Innocent Idibia a.k.a 2Baba has wailed about his son Nino Idibia not taking after him in music, despite being a good saxophone player.
2Baba while marking the 25th anniversary of his musical Odessey in Abuja said Nino whom he had with baby mama, Sumbo Adeoye wants to be a medical doctor.
“Make some noise for my son Nino, mehn,” 2Baba gushed out to his audience as Nino stepped into the stage.
“He said he doesn’t want to be a singer. He wants to be a doctor.”
Nino Idibia was born on January 15, 2006. He is a saxophonist, a model and social media influencer.
No doubt 2Baba would have been much happier if his son takes after him so that he would be on equal footing with Nigerian music legends whose sons are continuing where their fathers stopped.
Legends like Fela Anikulapo Kuti whose two sons Femi Kuti, Seun Kuti and grandson Made Kuti are very active in the Nigerian music scene. However, 2Baba can count on his daughter he had with Annie Macaulay who’s keen to be a singer to keep his name alive.
